PURPOSE:
To approve the appropriation of $45,000 from the America Rescue Plan grant funds assigned to the account reserved for District 7 to Refcode for workforce training to mitigate the public health emergency created by the pandemic.
NEED/IMPACT:
The impact of COVID-19 on constituents, including refugees and immigrants, in DeKalb County was immeasurable. Many constituents lost employment as workplaces closed. The impact of post COVID-19 is still experienced as many constituents are seeking employment and in need of additional skills and workforce training to secure employment and provide for their families. The training will teach skills in IT that will provide a pipeline to employment in the technology field.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To appropriate an amount not to exceed $45,000 from POETA Account # 105744.63258.521209.01.07.602479 to Refcode to mitigate the public health emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
