Information Contact: Peggy Allen, DDPW, Roads and Drainage

Phone Number: (404) 294-2878

PURPOSE:

To consider authorizing the reallocation of ARP Funds from ARP I and authorizing the use of those funds to purchase two pieces of equipment.

NEED/IMPACT:

Within the ARP 1 Stormwater funding appropriation, there are 2 projects that R&D will not be able to complete. Crabapple is a drainage project that has gone through design and the community decided against going forward during the land acquisition process. The design will be placed on the shelf. Pine Lake Road was a drainage project under design. The design was not complete when the city of Tucker took over maintenance. Since neither project can be completed within the allotted time, the Department requested consideration for reallocating the funds with the Department to purchase much needed equipment.

1.                     105884.63258.541301.04.60249 CCA-SW-Crabapple Balance $1,183,482.50

2.                     105884.63258.541301.02.60249 CCA-PLO-Pine Lake Road Drainage Balance $500,000.00

The request for the two pieces of equipment was forwarded to the ARP Eligibility team and the team found that the equipment WAS/IS eligible for ARP Funding and has been approved.

We have been working with Fleet and the contracts are in place for the purchase of the equipment.

The equipment consists of one - vacuum truck and 1 - striping/paint truck, both are integral in the storm water operations and maintenance mission.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No cost to county

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Authorize the reallocation of ARP Funds from ARP I and authorize the use of those funds to purchase two pieces of equipment.
