PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 5-32 of the Code of DeKalb County, as Revised 1988, where the Chief Executive Officer appoints six (6) members of the DeKalb County Animal Services Advisory Board, Chief Executive Officer Lorraine Cochran-Johnson hereby reappoints Ms. Tipton to Post 1 of the DeKalb County Animal Services Advisory Board for a term expiring on December 31, 2028.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Animal Services Advisory Board is “to encourage, promote, and develop the humane and healthy treatment of animals in DeKalb County.” The specific duties include advising the DeKalb County Animal Services and Enforcement and the governing authority about animal welfare and treatment issues and assisting with the implementation of long-term strategies to improve practices, service delivery, efficiency, and facilities related to animal services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
