PURPOSE:
To authorize and approve the use of SPLOST I, Category 2H funding, in an amount not to exceed $490,797.00 to explore the initial concept, cost feasibility, and preliminary design for a proposed joint Fire/Police training facility. DeKalb County Fire Rescue and Police Departments, in conjunction with the Purchasing Department, have solicited design services through Axis Infrastructure to complete the study.
NEED/IMPACT:
As part of the SPLOST I referendum, funding was identified to evaluate the feasibility of developing a joint Fire/Police training facility to support the County’s long-term public safety training needs. The study will include an assessment of the initial concept, anticipated cost, preliminary design, and the amount of land necessary to accommodate the proposed campus.
