PURPOSE:

The purpose of this agenda item is to adopt a Controlled Blasting and Safety Ordinance establishing clear, enforceable standards that protect residents, property, and infrastructure by strengthening oversight, improving safety protocols, and creating a consistent regulatory framework for blasting activities.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The need for this ordinance is driven by growing community concerns regarding blasting-related damage, safety hazards, and inadequate notification practices in rapidly developing areas. By implementing stronger regulations and accountability measures, the county can significantly reduce the likelihood of structural harm, environmental disruption, and public safety incidents.
