PURPOSE:

* To consider approving the FY 2025 Metro Atlanta Multi-Jurisdictional DUI Task Force (HEAT) grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety; and
* To consider accepting $149,468.80 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and appropriating this amount to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor’s requirements; and
* To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

This is a renewal grant of the DUI and Aggressive Driving Enforcement partnership between the DeKalb County Police Department and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.  These funds will be used for salaries as well as operating, training, and travel expenses incurred for Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (HEAT) operations by DeKalb County Police Department officers.  Activities are directed towards combating aggressive and impaired driving.
