PURPOSE:
To consider adopting a resolution to authorize the Transportation Division to submit a federal aid grant application to seek $1,600,000 in federal construction funding for the Flat Shoals Rd, Henderson Rd and Salem Rd Sidewalk projects (GDOT PI# 0007618/0008268) for construction in fiscal year 2018 and to consider allowing the CEO to administer all necessary documents related to the application.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) requires a resolution from the Board of Commissioners prior to submitting any federal aid applications to ensure that the local government understands the administrative and financial responsibilities should the project application be funded. If awarded, another agenda item will be presented to the Board of Commissioners for acceptance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
DeKalb County is currently responsible for this $2,000,000.00 in construction funding. If awarded the full requested federal aid amount of $1,600,000.00, the County’s local match will be reduced to $400,000.00.
