NEED/IMPACT:
Super District 6's initiative Aging in Placers is for adults age 55+ and supportive generations working together to shape how our community supports aging-in-place options that help older adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their chosen homes and communities in DeKalb County. In 2025, Bonnie Davis served as leader of the Aging in Placers Initiative during its first year, including drafting goals and objectives, recruiting Aging in Placers, planning and implementing programming, and building relationships with DeKalb County departments, nonprofit organizations, and community organizations. Further, this initiative has expanded as Aging in Placers take key learnings from last year and move to execute their driving mantra for 2026, "Advocacy through Action." This funding will allow Bonnie to continue this work into 2026, leading the Initiative in planning, organizing, educating, and advocating in support of housing options and choice for aging in place in DeKalb County.
Start date is March 1, 2026 and end date is December 31, 2026. Funding allows for Bonnie to work up to 60 hours per month. Additional details are included in the attached scope of work.
