PURPOSE:

To consider authorizing the payment to Georgia Power of up to $370,000 for the relocation of overhead power lines for the construction of the Church Street Trail project; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents pertaining to this project.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Georgia Power will need to relocate distribution lines and transmission guy poles in order for DeKalb County to construct the Church Street Trail project between Glendale Road and Mell Avenue. Existing CIP funds will be used to cover the cost of the Georgia Power relocations.  The construction contract for this project has been awarded to SD&C, Inc. and they have received a Notice to Proceed with construction.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Existing CIP funds for this project will cover the $370,000 cost.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To authorize the payment to Georgia Power of up to $370,000 for the relocation of overhead power lines for the construction of the Church Street Trail project; and

To authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents pertaining to this project.
