PURPOSE:
To date this fund has not materialized and funding has not been released. This agenda asks that the Board of Commission approve a District 6 request to rescind 2023-0902 and release the allocation back to the District 6 ARP tranche to re-allocate. Legal aid funding will be allocated through ERA funds.
NEED/IMPACT:
To help ease the overflow of TLAC, agenda item 2023-0902 was approved to establishing a DeKalb Eviction Defense Fund, using $100,000 of the District 6 ARP funding from Tranche 2 to support legal representation to qualified residents as they mitigate through the DeKalb County Eviction Court process.
This proposed “fund” has not moved forward so no funding has been distributed. This rescinded allocation absorbs back into the D6 ARP tranche to reappropriate to a qualified D6 ARP project or program. Legal aid funding will be allocated through ERA funds.
FISCAL IMPACT:
