PURPOSE:
To request approval of a resolution declaring the property located at 2117 Savoy Drive, Chamblee, GA, Parcel Identification Number 18-344-05-002, as surplus, and authorizing the sale and conveyance of said property to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for the construction of transit lanes and related infrastructure improvements. The governing authority has determined that the property is no longer required for County public purposes and that its conveyance will serve a public benefit, as permitted by O.C.G.A. ? 36-9-3(f).

NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT I-285 Top End Express Lanes project will deliver significant benefits to DeKalb County and the greater Atlanta region. The proposed construction of transit lanes in an area identified for redevelopment will improve public transportation access, reduce congestion, and enhance connectivity within DeKalb County. The project is expected to support ongoing revitalization efforts in the surrounding area, create or sustain local employment opportunities during construction, and stimulate further economic activity. By conveying this surplus property to GDOT, the County furthers its strategic objectives of promoting redevelopment, economic growth, and improved quality of life for residents.

FISCAL IMPACT:
