Phone Number: (770) 492-5206
PURPOSE:
To considering adopting a resolution to authorize the Transportation Division to submit a federal aid grant application to seek $4,800,000.00 in federal funding to purchase right of way for the Panola Road Operational Improvement Project in fiscal year 2018 and to consider allowing the CEO to administer all necessary documents related to the application.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) requires a resolution from the Board of Commissioners prior to submitting any federal aid applications to ensure that the local government understands the administrative and financial responsibilities should the project application be funded. If awarded, another agenda item will be presented to the Board of Commissioners for acceptance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
DeKalb County is currently responsible for the entire right of way cost of $6,000,000.00. If awarded the full requested federal amount of $4,800.000.00, the County local match will be reduced to $1,200,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
