PURPOSE:
To consider authorizing the payment of $12,000.00 to CSX Transportation for preliminary engineering phase services for the DeKalb Avenue Quiet Zone Project;
To consider reserving $12,000.00 of SPLOST I funds from line item 1B - Federal and State Project Matching Funds for Transportation Purposes for this payment; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to facilitate this work.
NEED/IMPACT:
CSX Transportation requires reimbursement of their costs related to the engineering review of the project. They are seeking an additional $12,000.00 to complete their review. This project will make safety improvements at the crossing that will, in combination with a GDOT project to install gates, make the crossing eligible for a railroad quiet zone.
FISCAL IMPACT:
SPLOST I funds in the amount of $12,000.00 will be needed.
