PURPOSE:
To consider accepting and appropriating $500,000.00 from the Atlanta Regional Commission into a new CIP account to update the 2019 DeKalb County Transit Master Plan; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents for the completion of the project.
NEED/IMPACT:
The ARC selected the DeKalb County Transit Master Plan update to be funded as part of their regional studies program. The DeKalb County Master Transit Plan scope of work seeks to define the current and future (25+ year) needs of both transit dependent and choice riders within and traveling to/from the County, define the types of transportation solutions to meet these needs, identify key, economic and community development (including transit-oriented development) opportunities that would be catalyzed by transit infrastructure investments and make recommendations to amend the MARTA Rapid Transit Cooperative Assistance Agreement (RTCAA) to define DeKalb County’s new priority project list.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The local match for $125,000.00 will be funded by the companion item 2026-0813 from the Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority (The ATL). For the plan to proceed, both items need to be adopted.
