PURPOSE:
To approve the appropriation (amount not to exceed) $210,000 from the District 3 ARP Award from POETA Account # 106388.63230.602778.01.03.602778
NEED/IMPACT:
The funds are being appropriated to help the many families within District 3 that have experienced adverse impact and require emergency assistance during the pandemic. The funding will be provided to Community Based Organizations (CBO) to help sustain the families during this difficult period with rent, mortgage, utilities, food based on the public health emergency, or its negative economic impacts and any other essential needs caused by the global pandemic.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The funding will come from District 3 ARP Award from POETA Account # 106388.63230.602778.01.03.602778 (amount not to exceed) $210,000 and appropriated to the following agencies:
• First Baptist Church Gresham Road Inc. - $25,000
• Greater Piney Grove Community Development Inc - $35,000
• First African Community Development Corporation - $25,000
• CHOICES - $50,000
• DeKalb County Chapter of the 100 Black Men of America - $50,000
• STAND INC - $25,000
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
