PURPOSE:

To authorize and approve using SPLOST I and SPLOST II funds to make necessary repairs to increase the Bruce Street Facility Project (East Precinct and Police Training) budget for renovation and capital improvements.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

This project addresses significant capital infrastructure needs at the Bruce Street (East Precinct) facility. While HVAC and roofing improvements have already been authorized, additional building systems, interior renovations, and capital repairs are required to ensure the facility remains operational, code-compliant, and suitable for law enforcement operations. The proposed improvements will extend the useful life of these facilities, improve the reliability of the building systems, enhance safety and accessibility, and prevent further deterioration that could result in higher long-term repair costs or service disruptions.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding will be used from

SPLOST I - Category 2E - Repair and Replace in the amount of $518,815.92

SPLOST II - Category A2 - Police Facilities in the amount of $2,500,714.08

Total amount - $3,019,530.00

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
