PURPOSE:
To appoint Samuel Sharter to DeKalb Post 2 of the Regional 3 Emergency Medical Services (also referred to as Regional Emergency Services Council District III) for a three-year term expiring on June 30, 2029.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Region 3 Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council is “to coordinate, facilitate the improvement of, and maintain a quality EMS system” in the eight (8) counties comprising District III: Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale County. The Council serves as the liaison between the Department of Public Health and the regional EMS system. Mr. Sharter is the Assistant Vice President, Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response for Emory University. DeKalb Post 2 is currently vacant.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
