PURPOSE:
Consists of providing construction services to replace Section 1 of the Shoal Creek Trunk Sewer and all necessary appurtenances. The work consists of but is not limited to the construction of a new 72-inch trunk gravity sewer and appurtenances to replace the existing 36- to 60-inch gravity sewer, with full switchover and abandonment of the existing line. Includes trenchless GDOT crossings, manholes, cleanouts, and bypass pumping. In order to help ensure the Consent Decree is being met the County has offered an Early Completion Incentive of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for each day that the Contractor achieves Substantial Completion prior to the initial substantial completion date. The total amount that will be paid for early completion will not exceed Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000.00). The vendor submitted the overall lowest cost of $46,486,473.55, if they are able to complete the project ahead of schedule, they could earn up to an additional $5,000,000.00 bringing their total bid to an Amount Not to Exceed $51,486,473.55. Once completed, the Shoal Creek Trunk Sewer Improvement Project will provide much needed capacity to accommodate future growth and enhance the environmental resilience of the county's infrastructure.
