PURPOSE:
To allocate $10,000 from District 2 Reserve for Appropriation to support Globe Academy Summer Camp
NEED/IMPACT:
This allocation is needed to fund a targeted summer remediation program for economically disadvantaged students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, ensuring they have equitable access to academic support. The program, offered through The GLOBE Academy’s summer camp, will provide structured instruction in reading, math, and language within a Dual Language Immersion setting, helping students close learning gaps and prevent summer learning loss. By covering the full cost of participation (approximately $333 per student per week, totaling about $10,000 for summer 2026), the funding removes financial barriers, allowing vulnerable students to receive consistent academic reinforcement, meals, and enrichment activities that support both educational progress and overall well-being.
