PURPOSE:
To consider accepting and appropriating up to $4,400,000.00 from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) into a new CIP project for utility relocations and construction for the extension of Lithonia Industrial Boulevard from I-20 to Woodrow Road; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents for completion of the project.
NEED/IMPACT:
GDOT is funding 80 percent of the utility relocation and construction cost for this project. The Board of Commissioners previously approved accepting GDOT right-of-way funding for this project on April 12, 2011 and October 27, 2015. Bid opening for this project was on January 17, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The majority of the county match is being provided by existing HOST funds for the project. The remainder is proposed to come from 2017 CIP funds.
