PURPOSE:
To allocate $25,000 from District 2 Reserve for Appropriation to Compassionate ATL to support interfaith initiative
NEED/IMPACT:
This item is needed to support DeKalb County’s ongoing commitment to “embracing and valuing the diversity of the community” by strengthening understanding, trust, and effective engagement across the County’s many faith and cultural communities. As described in the proposal, DeKalb is home to a wide range of religious traditions and an internationally diverse population, with DCSD families representing 166+ languages and 155+ nations. The Faith & Belonging Community Tour provides structured, educational site visits and dialogue opportunities that help County leadership better understand residents’ lived experiences, community concerns, and cultural practices-ensuring more informed, equitable, and respectful governance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Allocation of $25,000 from 2026 District 2 Reserve for Appropriation (00202.579002.100.0000.0000) to Compassionate ATL.

To approve the allocation and authorize the Chief Executive Officer or her designee to execute all necessary documents.
