District 2 ARP Funding for Latino Community Fund

PURPOSE:
To provide funding from District 2 ARP POETA Account 105744.63258.521209.01.02.602479 in the amount of $73,620 to the Latino Community Fund for two health and wellbeing fairs offering vaccinations and other health screenings to those families and citizens who have been severely impacted by COVID-19.
NEED/IMPACT:
In an attempt to recover from the pandemic and address economic hardships and food insecurity, the Latino Community Fund provides food and supplies as well as vaccinations and health services to local immigrant communities along Buford Highway. In 2022, LCF Georgia has already facilitated close to 6,000 vaccines against COVID-19 in community members’ arms and over 1,6000 FREE diabetes and high blood pressure screenings. This additional funding will help with larger health fair events scheduled in October and December 2022.

Recommended Action
To approve the appropriation of $73,620 to Latino Community Fund and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to support this appropriation.
