This request seeks to rescind the previous award under Agenda Item No. 2025-0844 for an amount not to exceed $1,804,000.00, and to award under this new Agenda Item for the immediate purchase of new refuse trucks. Awarded to McNeilus Financial, dba McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, c/o Ten-8 Industrial. Amount Not To Exceed: $1,928,813.00.

PURPOSE:
Consists of purchasing from the competitively let Sourcewell Cooperative Contract for the provision of eight (8) new 25-cubic yard (CY) 3.5 rear loader trucks, for continued weekly refuse collection services within the County. This request seeks to rescind the previous award made, on July 22, 2025, under Agenda Item No. 2025-0844 for an amount not to exceed $1,804,000.00 to purchase used rear loader refuse trucks. PW-Fleet Management conducted mechanical inspections on the used refuse trucks to be purchased and deficiencies were found. The model years on these used trucks ranged from 2022 to 2024 with odometer readings ranging from 20,000 to 58,000 miles. Due to their conditions, these used trucks were more likely to require frequent and significant repairs at higher maintenance costs, potentially leading to service delays and increased operational expenses...
