PURPOSE:

To consider accepting $97,811.00 for the DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and to appropriate the funds into a new award in the grant fund.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council has awarded $97,811.00 to the DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court. Funding will be used to support annual staff training, psychiatric and nursing services, counseling services, peer support services, medication assistance, as well as drug testing and monitoring supplies for program participants. Additionally, this grant will contribute to the salary & benefits of the Program Coordinator. The grant period is July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.  The required cash match of $17,261.00 will be met through the Superior Court operating budget.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Grant funding for all services is provided by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council in the amount of $97,811.00. All funds must be spent by June 30, 2027, end of State FY 2027.

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents. To accept $97,811.00 for DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and appropriate the funds into a new award in the grant fund
