PURPOSE:

To consider authorizing the replacement of the Traffic Engineering/Storm Water Office Trailer and appropriating $690,000 to fund the replacement.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The existing office trailer supporting Traffic Engineering and Storm Water staff is desperate need of replacement. It is more than twenty years old and beyond its life span and unable to be further repaired. The roof leaks throughout the building and is currently covered with a tarp. The floor develops continuous holes. The environment is no longer suitable for employees. Facilities has identified a replacement trailer(s). The replacement trailer(s) will be refurbished unites from Satellite Shelters. The total cost is $690,000. The cost includes the purchase of the trailers, $552,210, and the remaining $137,790.00 to pay for the trailer set up, utility connections, movers, data set up, and additional contractor services, all necessary to get the new trailer in move in condition for the employees.
