PURPOSE:
To accept benefits, terms, and conditions of the 2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The grant to be used for the purchase of fitness equipment for fire stations, and for creating an internal training program for Paramedic certification. The amount of the award is $398,225.02. The grant requires a 10% match of $39,822.50. The proposed performance period is July 29, 2021 to July 28, 2023.
NEED/IMPACT:
This grant will enable Fire Rescue to create a training program to train DCFR personnel to the paramedic level, as well as enable Fire Rescue to purchase fitness equipment for fire stations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Grant Funds Match. Not to exceed $39,822.50 over the two year term of the grant.
