PURPOSE:
Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act, where “the chief executive shall nominate a person,” CEO Thurmond nominates Ms. Eloise Hudson for appointment to the Housing Authority of DeKalb County. This is for a five (5) year term to Post 5, which will expire December 31, 2024.
NEED/IMPACT:
The mission of the Housing Authority of DeKalb County is to provide sustainable and affordable housing as a platform to enhance lives. Ms. Hudson’s last appointment term expired on December 31, 2012, but she has continued to serve. Ms. Hudson most recently served as a Resident Commissioner, who, according to O.C.G.A. § 8-3-50(b)(2), “is directly assisted by the public housing authority in such county.” This action would appoint Ms. Hudson to a five (5) year term to Post 5 as a regular Commissioner that would expire on December 31, 2024. Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act, the Chief Executive Officer nominates Ms. Eloise Hudson to the Housing Authority of DeKalb County.
