PURPOSE:
To appropriate an amount not to exceed $9,850 to EcoAddendum for kudzu removal on the Stone Mountain Trail between Cedar and Kelly Streets and four naturalist walks across Super District 6.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Stone Mountain Trail between Cedar Street and Kelly Street has significant amounts of kudzu, an invasive species that damages trees, landscaping, and other species. This funding will allow EcoAddendum to remove kudzu, without the use of harmful chemicals, and also activate interested volunteers and community members in stewarding the environment. Additionally, this funding will go towards four naturalist walks across Super District 6 allowing residents to learn about the beautiful nature and old growth forests in DeKalb County. This scope not only assists in land restoration, beautification, and invasive species management but engages residents to be stewards of the environment.
Start date is once the contract is executed, end date is November 30, 2026.
