PURPOSE:

To consider approving and authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the HUD Community Project Funding Grant (CPF) in the amount of $1,500,000 to complete the Memorial Drive Corridor Branding Project (sign fabrication, construction administration, installation). Additionally, the implementation of Gateway Features on the East and West entrances of the Memorial Drive Corridor (design, engineering, construction administration and construction). 

 

NEED/IMPACT:

On March 2, 2023, DeKalb County was awarded a CPF grant in the amount of $1,500,000 to complete the Memorial Drive Corridor Branding Project. These funds will also be used to implement Gateway Features on the East and West entrances of Memorial Drive. The objective of these two impactful initiatives is to boost economic development in this key business corridor within District 4 and 6.

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to accept the HUD Community Project Funding Grant Agreement in the amount of $1,500,000 for the Memorial Drive Corridor Branding Project.
