PURPOSE:
This agenda item seeks to refine the Board of Commissioners’ Committee Areas of Responsibility by ensuring all divisions are aligned under their respective departments, as well as grammatical revisions within the document.
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners (BOC) utilizes a committee system to vet legislation, review department performance, and make recommendations before items reach the full Board. The Committee Areas of Responsibility document details the specific authority, purposes, and departmental oversight for the BOC’s five standing committees.
The proposed changes include aligning Animal Services under the ERPS Committee as it is a division within Public Safety, and aligning Fleet Management under the PWI Committee as it is a division within Public Works. This revision also includes other minor grammatical changes.
