PURPOSE:
To consider accepting grant funds in the amount of $100,000 from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for the DeKalb County Medical Examiner Office.
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb County Medical Examiners Office (DCMEO) in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will participate in an interoperability pilot project with Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) surveillance programs to modernize data exchange utilizing the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) Standard. This program will enhance the effectiveness of data transmission between DCMEO and DPH data sharing partners. Funding provided by the CDC will provide resources to facilitate the interoperability process.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the general fund because there is no match requirement.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To accept the grant funding in the amount of $100,000 from the CDC for the DeKalb County Medical Examiners Office appropriate the funds to the grant fund, authorize disbursements, and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
