PURPOSE:
The Recreation, Park and Cultural Affairs Department seeks Board of Commissioners approval to rename Shoal Creek III Park at 3075 McAfee Road to John Evans Legacy Park.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Friends of Shoal Creek III has requested that RPCA rename the 32-acre Shoal Creek III Park to the John Evans Legacy Park. The Friends group has received the support of Georgia State House Representatives Angela Moore, HD 91a and Omari Crawford, HD84, in whose district the park lies. The two members sponsored Georgia State House Resolution 1385 in support of the renaming the park to John Evans Legacy Park. The renaming also has the support of the RPCA’s Citizen Advisory Board and the surrounding community.

To approve the renaming of Shoal Creek III Park at 3075 McAfee Road to John Evans Legacy Park. resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
