PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the DeKalb County Organizational Act and the Georgia Development Authorities Law, the Georgia Hospital Authorities Law, and the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authorities Act, CEO Cochran-Johnson nominates Ms. Glianny Faundo for appointment to Post 5 of the following authorities: the Development Authority of DeKalb County, the Private Hospital Authority and the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority. The appointments will begin upon confirmation by the Board of Commissioners. This is a four (4) year term for the Development Authority of DeKalb County, which will expire December 31, 2028. This is a six (6) year term for the Private Hospital Authority, which will expire December 31, 2026. This is a six (6) year term for the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority, which will expire December 31, 2030. Ms. Faundo will replace Mr. Alan Ferguson Sr. whose term on the Development Authority expired on December 31, 2024 and who will vacate Post 5 on the other authorities when Ms. Faundo's nomination is confirmed.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Development Authority of DeKalb County is to develop and promote commerce, industry, and employment opportunities for the public good and general welfare of DeKalb County.
