PURPOSE:
To consider accepting $40,488 for DeKalb Judicial Circuit Superior Court Senior Judges. The Grant was awarded by the State ARPA to handle the backlog of serious violent felony cases due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
NEED/IMPACT:
Judicial Council of Georgia Ad Hoc Committee on American Rescue Plan Act Additional Funding (“ARPA Committee”) has awarded $40,488.00 to DeKalb Judicial Circuit Superior Court Senior Judges, to handle the back log of serious violent felony cases due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for all services provided Judicial Council of Georgia Ad Hoc Committee on American Rescue Plan Act
in the amount of $40,488.00. Funding must be spent by September 31, 2026.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents. To accept $40,488.00 for from the Judicial Council of Georgia Ad Hoc Committee on American Rescue Plan Act. Funding and appropriate the amount to a new Grant Fund
