PURPOSE:
The Clerk to Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Commissioners would like the minutes of the Commission to reflect appointments made by individual Commissioners to various boards and authorities. Dan Wright, previously appointed by former Commissioner Kathie Gannon, has served as the District 6 ZBA appointment for close to a decade. In 2021, Dan Wright accepted Commissioner Terry's appointment to continue serving at this capacity which expired 12/31/2024. He has diligently served, and we are all grateful for his contributions.
As Commissioner Terry begins his 2nd term as the Super District Commissioner, his intention is to appoint Dr. Juaney A. Lynn-Rigsby as the District 6 ZBA Appointee. She has graciously indicated her interest to serve in this capacity.
NEED/IMPACT:
Dr. Juaney A. Lynn-Rigsby has lived in District 6 for years and has been an active community advocate who understands the nuances around this area, how it fits into the health and economic development of DeKalb County and understands the critical function of a community's planning and zoning program and the importance to protect the interests of all parties and upholds due process. Commissioner Terry is fortunate that she has indicated her intent to serve in this capacity and he is prepared to appoint Dr. Juaney A. Lynn-Rigsby for his Commission term ending on December 31, 2028, unless such term ends sooner as provided by law.
