PURPOSE:
Appropriation not to exceed $79,000 for Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Affairs - Porter Sanford Performing Arts & Community Center to address required equipment improvements.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center is 17 ½ years old, It is a known jewel in DeKalb County District 3 and is an important cultural asset for the community. It gives local artists, youth, schools, community organizations and performers a place to experience and participate in the arts. In order to ensure it remains relevant, safe, welcoming and technologically capable this investment will address the current issues:
• Digital Marquee - $20,000
• Flex Theater - $33,000
• Wireless DMX Transmitters - $10,000
• Power Lock Link Cable - $1,000
• Riser Legs - 1,000
• Genie Lift - $14,000

To approve and authorize the chief executive officer or her designee to execute all necessary documents.
