PURPOSE:

The purpose of this agenda item is to consider the approval of precinct boundary changes.  Under Section 9(7) of the Organizational Act, the Commissioners must adopt precinct boundary changes.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

                     Adjust the Emory South and Johnson Estates precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Atlanta.

                     Adjust the Covington and Avondale precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Avondale Estates.

                     Adjust the McNair, McNair Academy and East Lake precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Atlanta.

 

In order to satisfy State Election Law Requirements and Timelines, the Registration and Elections Director has published this agenda item in the county legal organ on February 8, 2018 and February 15, 2018.

 

The Board of Registration and Elections approved these changes on January 11, 2018.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This agenda item does not have any fiscal impact on the county.

Recommended Action

To approve the new election precinct boundaries, as approved by the Board of Registration and Elections.
