PURPOSE:
An Item to Allocate $2,000 of the Reserve for Appropriations District 7 funds to BlackBoy Blueprint for student participation in the Blueprint Legacy Summit.
NEED/IMPACT:
Allocating $2,000 from the District 7 Reserve for Appropriations to BlackBoy Blueprint is important because the Blueprint Legacy Summit provides a transformative, three-day leadership experience for young men ages 12-22 from the DeKalb communities-youth who often have limited access to mentorship, enrichment, and safe spaces for growth. By bringing young men together for financial literacy sessions, outdoor leadership activities such as archery, farming, and hiking, and fireside discussions centered on purpose and goal setting, the summit builds confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging while exposing participants to positive role models and new opportunities. This investment strengthens youth development, supports community stability, and helps cultivate the next generation of leaders in District 7.
FISCAL IMPACT:
An amount not to exceed $2,000 of the Reserve for Appropriations District 7 funds to BlackBoy Blueprint for student participation in the Blueprint Legacy Summit.
