PURPOSE:
(1) To consider approving the FY23 Homeland Security Grant Program (EOD K9)/Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) funding; and
(2) To consider accepting $18,500.00 from the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) and appropriating $18,500.00 to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor's requirements; and
(3) To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
This grant agreement governs the use of the funds provided by the State of Georgia to assist the DeKalb County Police Department to build and enhance capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies in accordance with the goals and objectives of the State Strategic Plan. This grant will be dedicated to the Special Services Division for the purchase of dog food and veterinary care for the EOD K9s.
