PURPOSE:
This proposed resolution, calling for an request for proposal to perform and Energy Efficiency Audit and Energy Performance Review of All DeKalb County Government-Owned buildings and facilities review, will assist with identifying potential energy efficiency improvements, assess the cost-effectiveness of implementing such improvements, and help prioritize energy efficiency measures.

NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb County Government recognizes that energy efficiency is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to combat climate change, clean the air we breathe, and reduce energy costs that are in all actuality tax-payers dollars. Supporting strategies to improve energy efficiency measures have the potential to reduce energy costs, improve indoor air quality, increase the comfort and productivity of occupants, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
DeKalb County government buildings and facilities consume a significant amount of energy, and there is a need to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and costs.

In an effort to be the best stewards of both taxpayers' dollars and the earth, an Energy Efficiency Audit and Energy Performance Review would enhance DeKalb County's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and energy consumption.
