PURPOSE:
To consider approval of Lease Amendment No. 4 extending the Lease Agreement for ten years until December 31, 2056; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the Lease Amendment.
NEED/IMPACT:
The County executed County Contract No. 06-800202 with Mercury Air Center-Peachtree-DeKalb, LLC d/b/a Atlantic Aviation, a fixed base operator, on December 6, 2006. The lease contains three previous amendments. Lease Amendment No. 4 was negotiated in accordance with the DeKalb County Code. Approving Lease Amendment No. 4 to Contract No. 06-800202 will benefit the County and the Airport and inure to the public interest by enabling Lessee to attract additional users over an additional ten years which will add revenue to the County via personal property tax and increase the amount of fuel and sales tax paid to the County.
The County Attorney has reviewed the document and approved it as to form pending Governing Authority approval.
The original documents will be forwarded to the Purchasing and Contracting Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is a revenue generating lease agreement. There is no cost to the County.
