PURPOSE:

A resolution requesting the Administration implement programs to enhance environmental equity for residents near the County landfill and improve sanitation practices by establishing an equity-based discount program for residential sanitation rates, implementing a rebate program for air quality mitigation, developing a comprehensive composting program, and creating real-time monitoring and alert systems for landfill-related nuisances.

NEED/IMPACT:

Residents living in close proximity to the landfill may experience disproportionate burdens, including odor, noise, and visual impacts, which can affect their quality of life and property values.
