PURPOSE:

To purchase 3.6 acres of land located at 7558 Pleasant Hill Road, Lithonia, Georgia to construct a new fire station as identified in SPLOST Program Category 2A.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Fire Rescue Department has identified Fire Station No. 27 as a new fires station needed to improve service in the County and improve the ISO rating for this area of the County.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

SPLOST Program Category 2A funding will be used to cover the purchase price and associated costs, with a purchase price of $120,000.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Approve the purchase of 3.6 acres of land located at 7558 Pleasant Hill Road, Lithonia, Georgia to construct a new fire station as identified in SPLOST Program Category 2A and upon the satisfactory/successful completion of due diligence, authorize the CEO to execute all necessary documents, including a Purchase and Sale Agreement in a form acceptable to the County Attorney.
