PURPOSE:
The Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department is requesting an increase in the Golf Fees currently charged at Sugar Creek Golf and Tennis Center and seeks Board of Commissioners acceptance and approval of the new fees effective upon adoption by the Board.
NEED/IMPACT:
After one year of operations, staff is recommending an increase of $2.00 in the golf cart fee which is currently $11.00 and an increase of $1.00 for a small basket of Driving Range golf balls. In addition, staff is recommending a change in associated golf fees for the monthly/annual Membership program. Currently the membership program is based on the payment of a monthly or annual fee that allows for a reduced daily playing fee which includes a greens fee and the cart fee. The new membership program calls for an increase in the monthly or annual fee but allows membership holders to only pay the daily golf cart fee but no longer pay the daily greens fee. Since opening in December of 2019, the course has sold only two (2) memberships to date. It is expected that the new membership program will generate a greater interest from local golfers who play the Sugar Creek on a frequent basis. Golfers who purchasing the membership fee will be able to book a tee time up to 30 days in advance, receive 12 annual guest passes and play in any Sugar Creek sponsored golf tournament.
