PURPOSE:
Accept and approve the FY22 grant award from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council in the amount of $137,910 to be used for the purpose of continued substance abuse education, treatment, supervision and transportation for program participants and continued training for staff.

NEED/IMPACT:
The award would be used to continue services to educate, treat and supervise DUI Court participants regarding substance abuse; assist in transportation services; provide drug and alcohol screening and provide training to staff. The program includes intensive supervision by the court and program staff; community supervision, individualized treatment, substance abuse education and prevention with group and individual counseling sessions for a minimum of 15 months. The award also provides participants with transportation costs to get to and from treatment, drug screens and court sessions. Said award grant period starts July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The award of $137,910 begins from July 1, 2021 and ends June 30, 2022. Said award would provide additional funds to the DUI Court Program in order to assist in covering operational costs. The award granted will provide funds for Counseling Services in the amount of $71,500; Drug Testing and Supplies in the amount of $33,000; Staff Training in the amount of $1,619; Transportation Services in the amount of $18,000; and a 10% match of $13,791 for a total award of $137,971.
