PURPOSE:

State law requires that a public hearing be held on a potential abandonment of public right of way. Adoption of this resolution sets a date and time for a public hearing related to the potential abandonment of a 45,272 SF (1.039-acres) section of public right-of-way known as Snapfinger Road.   

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The owner of property located at 2349, 2317, and 2610 Snapfinger Road, Decatur, GA 30034 has submitted a public right of way abandonment petition for an abutting 45,272 SF section of right of way, known as Snapfinger Road, to cease to be used by the public to the extent that no substantial public purpose is served by it.

State law requires that a public hearing be held on a potential abandonment of right of way. This public hearing date will be advertised for two consecutive weeks in the Champion Newspaper.

The County Attorney’s Office has reviewed the attached resolution and has approved it as-to-form.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Adopt the attached resolution setting a date and time for a public hearing related to potential abandonment of a section of right of way and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
