PURPOSE:
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 31-3-2(a)(1) related to county boards of health, one member of each county’s board of health shall be the chief executive officer of the governing authority of the county, by whatever name called, or some member designated by said officer. As the Chief Executive Officer of DeKalb County, CEO Cochran-Johnson submits this Item to record in the minutes her official designation of Commissioner Robert Patrick as her designee for Post 1 of the DeKalb County Board of Health. The designation will continue at the pleasure of CEO Cochran-Johnson.
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb County Board of Health exercises responsibility for health matters within DeKalb County, including taking steps to prevent and suppress disease and conditions deleterious to the health of citizens; adopting and enforcing rules and regulations appropriate to improving health within the County; and contracting and establishing fees for a multifaceted mission within DeKalb County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
