PURPOSE:

To extend the current Rental Agreement between DeKalb County Government and Cherians Real Estate, LLC. through December 31, 2026, and to add a provision for WorkSource to pay a portion of the utilities.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The one-year lease extension is to allow WorkSource DeKalb to continue to operate out of the building located at 774 Jordan Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033. The lease is currently set to terminate on December 31, 2025.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact to the county. Rent will be paid with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funds. The

rental rate for 2026 is $515,954.25 with an estimated $68,000 for utilities totaling $583,954 for 2026.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve extension of the referenced lease agreement and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents in a form acceptable to the County Attorney.
