PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the DeKalb County Organizational Act and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority Act of 1965, as amended (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), CEO Cochran-Johnson nominates Boniface G. Echols, Esq. for appointment to Post 4 of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Board of Directors for a term expiring on December 31, 2026. Mr. Echols will replace Mr. Roderick Frierson, whose term has expired, and who has continued to serve.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the MARTA Board of Directors (also referred to as the Board of Directors of the Authority) is to manage the property, affairs and business of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority in accordance with the powers and authority delegated by the Act.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
