PURPOSE:
To allocate an amount not to exceed $50,000 to Grady’s Interpersonal Violence Intervention & Youth Outreach (IVVY) Program, Police Athletic League (PAL) and DeKalb County School District from District 3 Reserved for Appropriation Funds for Youth Safety and Violence Prevention programs.
NEED/IMPACT:
Funding is needed to address violent crime by expanding access to recreational area, behavioral and mental health services. These efforts will be aligned to strengthen community safety, wellness, and engagement. The initiative will also enhance youth programming and support services to reduce disparities in disproportionately impacted communities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding will be allocated to Human Services for distribution to the community organizations based on the process for this year’s mid-year budget amendment:
• Grady’s (IVYY) Program - $25,000
• PAL (funding will assist towards the playground and soccer initiative) - $15,000
• DeKalb County School District - $10,000
